With the Parsippany Library Summer Reading Challenge
Summer is the perfect time to discover your next great read—and the Parsippany Library is inviting readers of all ages to do just that with Summer Reading 2026: Unearth a Story!
Running now through Saturday, August 15, this year’s Summer Reading Challenge encourages children, teens, and adults to explore new books, earn prizes, and celebrate the joy of reading all season long.
Whether you’re enjoying a bestselling novel at the beach, listening to an audiobook on a road trip, or reading bedtime stories with your family, every page helps uncover a new adventure.
Discover Stories. Earn Rewards.
Summer Reading is free to join and offers fun incentives for every age group.
Children (Birth-Grade 5)
Young readers can track their reading time to earn weekly prizes and raffle tickets as they reach reading milestones.
Teens (Grades 6–12)
Teens earn raffle tickets by logging books throughout the summer, giving them more chances to win exciting prizes.
Adults
Adults can earn raffle tickets simply by reading books throughout the summer. Participants who read three books will receive a complimentary copy of The Maid by Nita Prose—this year’s Community Read selection—while supplies last. After reading six books, participants will also receive a commemorative Parsippany Library mini tote, while supplies last.
Raffle winners for all age groups will be selected after the program concludes and notified by email.
A Summer Filled with Stories
This year’s theme, Unearth a Story, celebrates the countless adventures waiting to be discovered through books. From thrilling mysteries and fascinating nonfiction to unforgettable characters, family histories, and faraway worlds, every story has something new to uncover.
As Rose Schulman, Head of Children’s Services at the Main Library and Branch Manager at the Mount Tabor Branch Library, shares:
“Summer Reading is one of the Library’s most anticipated traditions. Whether you’re reading your very first picture book, discovering your next favorite author, or revisiting a classic, every story has the power to inspire curiosity and bring people together. We invite everyone in our community to join us this summer and unearth a story.“
Getting Started Is Easy
Signing up takes just a few minutes. Simply create an account or log in to Beanstack on the website or in the mobile app and start tracking your reading.
Remember, Saturday, August 15, is the final day to log your reading and submit raffle tickets.
Throughout the summer, participants can also enjoy special programs, activities, and events at the Main Library, Lake Hiawatha Branch Library, and Mount Tabor Branch Library.
Join the Adventure
No matter your age or what you love to read, Summer Reading is a fun way to challenge yourself, discover new favorites, and connect with your library community.
We can’t wait to see what stories you’ll uncover this summer!
