Adventure awaits with the Parsippany Library Summer Reading Challenge
The Parsippany Library invites you to embark on a literary adventure this summer by participating in the Summer Reading program. Registration begins on June 1st. Logging begins on June 10th and the last day to log a book is August 17th, 2024.
The Summer Reading Challenge is designed to encourage reading for pleasure and offers readers of all ages an opportunity to explore new worlds and discover new perspectives. Children, teens and adults can download the Beanstack app to participate online.
The theme for this year’s Summer Reading Challenge is “Adventure Begins at Your Library.” Each library location will feature activities and programs to make reading a fun and engaging part of your summer.
Please check out these different Summer Reading Kickoff events for Teens and Children at our different locations.
- Teens Summer Reading Kickoff Event at the Main Library: Water War! Waterguns & cannons with pools of water! On Thursday, June 13th from 4:30-6:30 pm for Grades 6-12.
- Summer Reading Kickoff at the Main Library: For children of all ages and their families. Join us to celebrate the start of Summer Reading at the Parsippany Library! We will have games, crafts, and fun on Friday, June 21st from 11 am to 1:30 pm.
- Summer Reading Kick Off at the Lake Hiawatha Branch Library: Slide into Summer Reading with a special performance and demonstrations by Thillai Arts of the art of Bharatanatyam and more on Monday, June 24th at 3:30 pm!
- Summer Reading Kick Off at the Mt. Tabor Branch Library: Join us outside the front of the library and in the back yard of the building for some family-friendly lawn games on Wednesday, June 26th from 4:30-6:30 pm.
Join the Summer Reading Challenge to participate in the thrill of prize drawings.

Adults who read three books will receive a copy of our 2024 Community Read, Crying in H Mart: A Memoir by Michelle Zauner
Participants can track the amount of time spent reading and even collect prizes. The best part is, the more you read, the more chances you have to win! Use Beanstack to track titles you have read, submit reviews, and learn about library activities for Summer Reading!
