We are bringing a splash of fun to summer with our annual 2025 Summer Reading Program, themed “Color Our World.” This vibrant initiative for children, teens, and adults encourages readers of all ages to explore stories that celebrate creativity, community, and the many colors of life.
To kick off the season with excitement, we hosted Summer Reading Kickoff Events filled with crafts, games, outdoor activities, and opportunities to register for the reading challenge.

All participants who accomplish their reading goals will receive raffle tickets. Raffle tickets may be redeemed to enter to win gift cards, prizes, and more! Adults who read three books as part of the Summer Reading Program will receive a complimentary copy of North Woods by Daniel Mason, the 2025 Community Read selection chosen by the Parsippany community. This richly layered novel traces the history of a single house deep in the New England woods, beginning with two young lovers fleeing a Puritan colony. As part of this shared reading experience, North Woods will also be the featured title for most adult Parsippany Library Book Clubs in October.
The Summer Reading Program runs from June 21 through August 16 and features age-specific challenges, fun incentives, and creative programming designed to inspire a love of reading all summer long. Children, teens, and adults are encouraged to participate and help “Color Our World” with their stories.
The 2025 Summer Reading Program is proudly sponsored by the Friends of the Parsippany Library.
