The title chosen by popular vote as the 2025 Parsippany Community Read pick is North Woods by Daniel Mason. For adult readers who finish three books during the summer reading program, readers will receive a complimentary copy of North Woods.
This richly layered novel was the top pick among several contenders, and it’s easy to see why. North Woods traces the stories of generations connected to a single house tucked deep in the New England forest, beginning with two young lovers fleeing a Puritan colony. Blending history, mystery, and lyrical storytelling, it’s a book that invites deep discussion and reflection.
As part of this shared reading experience, North Woods will be the featured title for most Parsippany Library adult book clubs in October.

Adult programs in October are also inspired by the North Woods. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect with other Parsippany Library patrons over a powerful story that the community has chosen together.
