Parsippany Main welcomes Origami Teacher of the Year, Deanna Kwan in the lower level display Cabinets
Hello!! I’m Deanna Kwan. I have been learning and teaching origami for over 25 years. I started folding when my son, Daniel, discovered modular origami models. As a mathematics teacher, I was very interested in these geometric models. In the beginning, I learned many models from Daniel. We joined OrigamiUSA and attended their Annual Convention, where we had the most wonderful time sharing origami with over 600 folding enthusiasts from all over the USA and from around the world. I have continued to learn origami by attending conventions, attending online origami club meetings, reading diagrams in books, and watching videos online. I teach origami at schools, libraries, parks, origami conferences, arts festivals, health centers, and at Paper Shapers Origami Club. I continue to teach origami all over the U.S. and internationally by way of Zoom. It was my honor to be recognized by OrigamiUSA, as the 2021 Teacher of the Year
